Under Attack

Hey everybody. If you’ve been trying to visit WaiterRant  you’ve noticed that Google has listed my site as “dangerous” and containing malware. As of today the issue has been addressed with a WordPress upgrade and security fixes – so the site is safe. However, it will take Google a day or two to take my site off their blacklist. The last thing I want is my site to be a distribution hub for porn and Viagra – especially when I’m not getting any of that stuff for free!

Back in a few days. Thanks for tuning in.

That sucks! I hope it’s resolved very quickly.

On another note, I read a post from a waiter recently who insists single diners are practically the devil and wants them all to sit at the bar.

What is your take on this?

Just FYI WordPress 3.0.1 was released today, you might wanna get your gets to push that one up too.

  3. JY says:

Always figured you were a dangerous sort of fella.

  4. David Pankhurst says:

Your listing is fine now – I guess Google has decided to forgive you…

BTW, WordPress has a history of being hit by hackers (especially using hacked themes). Best prevention is to check your theme over, and update WP as soon as possible (especially if the next release is a security fix).

Nice to see you’re back up and running. Cant wait for the next installment.

Thank god. My antivirus actually blocked some malware from here when I visited, and I was a little worried.

Maybe you should ask them for some free samples – consider it as a 15% tipping exercise!

As a server/bartender/ Food service manager i have this to say about single Diners.

The same thing i have to say to all other paying customers.

yes, a server makes less on a 1 top than he does on a 4 top. He also does less work. Too damn bad, that is part of the food service game. I have had $800.00 nights and $8.00 nights while working at the same restaurant. Them’s the breaks. As a manager i can tell you for sure that the waiter that complains or gives substandard service to a 1 top will not have any large parties sat in his section during my shifts.

..I wonder if you’re who I got the virus from the other night? At the time I blamed it on a new Facebook app but I think I was blog surfing at the same time (I do the weirdest multitasking). Oh well…far as I know no harm done.

  10. Bree says:

Have to agree with Doubts here. I was a server and would have the $800.00 nights and $8.00 nights. Those are the breaks and it comes with being a server. It sucks but you roll with the punches and take a chance each night you’re on the job.

Thanks for the link Tonya – I started to read the blog you linked to, inparticular the thread in your link, however the blog owner has now deleted the thread, mostly, I suspect because there was a theme of people not actually agreeing with his viewpoint (myself included). I have since posted 3 further posts directly to the blog owner, politely asking why, each time I post or ask a question I am deleted without the courtesy of a reply.

It strikes me that the site whilst potentially interesting is only open to readers of a syncophantic nature, and not to anyone who even slightly disagrees with the writer – shame but there we go – so if anyone is reading this, here is where at least you will get an unbiased opinion that allows his readers to have an opinion of their own (as long as it is not rude or inflamatory)

    1 up to you Steve

I shouldn’t bother with the other place, dispite it’s potential it’s clearly rubbish…

Just wanted to let you know I just finished your book and it was AMAZING! I have been waitressing for just over two years, mostly just in diners, but I still agreed with everything!

  13. Steve says:

I would be grateful if you Steve, the blog owner would remove my previous comment about another site from this comments list. For information the blog owner has now had the courtesy to reply and i wish to retract my earlier comments.

  14. AlexS says:

My site was hit with that too. It apparently pounded a lot of WordPress sites.

Glad to see everything here is fine now and that there’s a new post for me to read!

  15. amy says:

Mr. Dublanica, I’m currently reading your book and I just absolutely love it. 🙂

  16. paulo1 says:

Who’s Steve and who’s Steve? Is one of you actually you and the other one is someone else?

  17. Bill says:

Glad you got that malware stuff fixed. My Avast antvirus was blocking your site, I thought you had gone to the dark side. Keep those wordpress updated and you’ll be fine.

  18. Pelayo says:

I’ve just finished your book, and i’ve got to say that it was gorgeous.Greetings from Spain

Steve the blog owner posts as ‘Admin’, not ‘Steve’.
